Kindwords...Wordsworth...???
Talking to 'The Disk Company' today, this is the information I have
gleaned:
Kindwords 3.0
has been developed from Wordsworth 1.X, and is a
cut down version (seemingly, it comes without the 400 odd printer drivers
and uses the Amiga ones, plus only a 300 page manual - not 400 etc). When
I asked "cut down?", the fellow said, "It's a bit of a poor term really!".
Apparently it's the same programme with a few of the wizz-bang features
missing, and a few of its own individual features in. Can't tell you what
exactly as yet, but over-the-phone it's got Wordsworth's
dictionary/thesaurus, text/graphics handling and interface; what is
definitely missing are the printer drivers - so I'm not sure if the super
high density printing is available, or postcript etc, etc.
Kindwords 3.0
is fully workbench 2.X compatible, and uses all
its features.
You can upgrade to Kindwords 3.0 from 2.0 for
$50.00
plus $3.00
postage and handling. Just send a disk, or the manual cover.
MaxiPlan 4 and Kindwords 3
If you send in any original disk from any Amiga spreadsheet or
word-processing program and you can get MaxiPlan4 for $70 and/or Kindwords3
for $50 (add $3 for P&P).
The Disk Co. can be found at:

Box 442

PROWRITE 3.3
Recently announced, this one sports Pagestreams HotLinks for automatic
incorporation of text into Pagestream; automatic wraparound of pictures;
support for Kickstart 3.0, and 256 colour screens. You should be receiving
a notification soon if you're registered.

BUGABOOS
Who, What, When, Where?
This "nag" or reminder program by the Blue Ribbon Bakery reads the NTSC 60
Hz rather than the 50 Hz to run its clock, so it loses 10 minutes per hour.
Quite useless really. And noboby has ever picked it up in a review!
Thanks to Kevin Thompson for this info.
From Adriaan Piels tells us about this cute and obscure bug in
FONTMANAGER
In FontManager V. 1.0, be aware of a tricky little problem: when loading
a font from a disk make sure, if you click on the "disk" gadget to bring up
the Device List, that it's the physical device <PHY> that you select, not a
logical device <LOG> or a disk <DSK>. Don't ask me why, but if you click
on either of the others the program will look like it's working, but won't
actually do anything. So always load from, say, DF0:, not for example
Fonts_disk: or some such name.
Syquest Problems
TrumpCards and Syquest
Although they say in the manual the Syquest will work with the TrumpCard,
it doesn't, according to Michael Stapleton. So beware.
GVP and Syquest
Beware that the GVP software needs to be handled "manually" not
automatically as the manual suggests to set up a Syquest. Go to "Last
disk" and change that button.
Mavis Beacon
Don't use it on Workbench 2, it seems to have problems.
